DAIRY BOARD MEMBERS
ELECTIONS THIS MONTH Nominations for the election of three members of the Dairy Produce Control Board close on May 20 and the election terminates on June 13. All producers supplying factories engaged in the export business are enttiled to vote. Vacancies occur this year in Wards 3,4, and 7, occupied respectively by Messrs. Goodfellow, Thacker and Forsyth. It is understood that each seat will be contested. Under the amendment passed ’ast year by Parliament the election is determined in two ways: First, by the vote of the individual suppliers to each factory in respect of the candidates before them, and thereafter upon the tonnage basis of the factors' - , this being computed as to March 31 of this year. The tonnage votes are based upon one vote for every 20 tons; or part Thereof, up to 500 tons of butter and thereafter one vote for every 30 tons of butter. Two tons of cheese are computed to be equal to one ton of butter. The full tonnage vote of each factory is accorded to that candidate who secures the majority of suppliers’ votes
