A Farmer’s Crime.—George Edvvan Pain, dairy farmer, of Kaituna, pleaded guilty at the Masterton Court yesterday to a charge of incest and was committed to Wellington for sentence.
Otahuhu Building.-—A total sum of £81,765 was expended upon buildings in Otahuhu during the year. Private buildings accounted for £49,146; business premises, £27,119; other buildings, £ 5,500.
Petrol Explosion.—Daniel Stewart, aged 30, of Green Island, Dunedin, was admitted to hospital suffering from severe burns about the face, head ami arms. He was mixing Brunswick black when the petrol he was adding to the mixture exploded-.
Institute for Blind.—ln a paragraph appearing in THE SUN recently, in connection with funds obtained for the Institute for the Blind from the sale of a booklet, the name of W. F. Darly should have read Mr. W. F. Darby.
King George’s Accession.—Yesterday was the 17th anniversary of the accession of His Majesty King George V. to the throne. Flags were flown on many business houses, and the warships of the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy were “dressed" in honour of the event.
