STOLEN CANVAS

BOYS COVER TROLLY Searching for some canvas for a trolley, two small boys recently wandered into a city garage. The covering on a motor-car proved too great a temptation for them, so they removed what canvas they required, damaging it to the extent of £2 10s.

Somewhat tearful and decidedly penitent, they appeared in the Children’s Court this morning, having pleaded guilty to the offence. Mr. Cutten, S.M., took rather a serious view of the matter when he was informed that the lads had also carried off a sack of bottles, which they subsequently disposed of. The parents of these boys were ordered to make restitution. The canvas hunters were admonished and told not let their trolly again lead them into mischief.
