CHARGE OF FRAUD

According to the charge read out to him in the Police Court this morning George Warren, aged 53, tried “to put one over” on William Henry Jackson, last January. It was alleged that he had arranged an advertising contract with Jackson, agreeing, for £2, to show his client’s “ad” on a utility block cabinet, which he proposed to place in the vestibule of the Capitol Theatre in Dominion Road.

Warren pleaded not guilty, and was remanded to next Monday.
