RACE RESULTS | I l | A Late Edition of THE | I SUN will be published at 5.30 p.m. containing the final race results. i I HAWKE’S BAY MEETING WORK AT HASTINGS RAPINE IN GREAT HEART Press Association HASTINGS, To-day. There was little work done on the Hastings tracks this morning, most of the horsse being restricted to working gallops on the plough. Hathor alone ran six furlongs in 1.18. Scotch Mixture had the better of Superb King over five furlongs run in 1.15 1-5. Othon easily held Good Mark over six furlongs in 1.20, and Royal Damon was too good for Royal Diadem over five furlongs, taking 1.5 1-5. Merry Day, Radiate and Highway were associated in a gallop, starting at the six-furlong post and finishing on the second round at the four-furlong post. Merry Day, looking well and galloping freely, easily outdistanced her opponents. On her return she showed not the least sign of distress. It was an attractive gallop, but no time was taken. Highway alone did one round over four flights of hurdles, jumping cleanly Road Hog held Coot easily over seven furlongs on the outside track proper, run in 1.31, the first three being run in 37 3-ssec. Rapine, looking in great heart, went twice round on the plough at a strong three-quarter pace. Joy King and Decoy Bird were given slow work, as also were Reremoana and Royal Divorce. Calluna, Grand National and Merry Singer were sent twice round at a strong pace, the first-mentioned pleasing most. Peneus and Kalos, the former having the advantage, ran seven furlongs in 1.31. C. Wright, of Gisborne, had liis team on the track, all looking particularly well, but did only slow exercise.
