STRICTLY GUARDED

DI PINEDO’S NEW PLANE FLIGHT TO BE RESUMED By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright Reed. 8 a.m. NEW YORK, Tuesday. The assembling of di Pinedo’s new plane has been completed. The plane will be tested later in the week and the flight will be resumed on May 9. According to the present plans di Pinedo’s new machine will be kept under strict guard day and night. Strangers are being held at a distance of 75 feet.—A. and N.Z.* The Marchese di Pinedo’s machine, the “Santa Maria,” was destroyed by fire on Roosevelt Lake, Arizona, on April 6. He had flown via North Africa across the Atlantic to Brazil and he went from there, via Para, at the mouth of the Amazon, to New Orleans and was on his way to California when the accident happened. The United States War Department offered him the use of one of their machines, but he preferred to wait until a new one arrived from Italy.
