PAPATOETOE TOWN BOARD
An ordinary meeting of the Papatoetoe Town Board was held on Tuesday. Present Mr. A. W. Hall (chairman!, Messrs. W. J. Nicholson, W. Brown, J. franklin, P. Pennell, E. Sorensen, and G. Foster.
The foreman reported the completion of the Great South Road footpaths, a total of 169 hours being spent on the job, also the clea 1 % j of the watertables in Park Avenue and Station Road West. The sum of £22 12s was to be charged to Bray for work on the South Road footpaths. The engineer reported that formation on the northern side of the South Road was completed, and the work exceeded expectations. Was decided to instruct one of the board’s employees to act as ranker on Great South Road, to report any instances of drovers allowing stock to wander on the footpaths. Messrs. Fletcher, Ltd., will be written to claimlnS *22 10s for damage done to footpaths and water-tables by the droving or a mob of- 520 head of cattle through kenderdine Road and Station Road VV est. The tender of Mr. H. Swaffield, £ls, R year, for grazing sheep on the aborts ground, was accepted. After a long discussion it was de(‘ided to consider paying employees .mg sickness, each case to be determined on its merits at a meeting of toe lull board. The works committee submitted Inmates for the year ending March •u. 1928. Many important works were contemplated, and the total reached £915 4s.
