PUBLICITY BOARD
PROPOSALS TO MINISTER BEING MADE TO-DAY (From Our Resident Reporter.) WELLINGTON, To-day. A proposal to establish a Publicity Board for controlling New Zealand’s interests is to be placed before the Hon. G. J. Anderson to-day by the Associated Chambers of Commerce, resulting from a resolution passed at the annual conference some months ago. There was a slight misunderstanding about the conference of chambers expecting the Minister to call a meeting, but as Mr. Anderson points out, if proposals are to be presented to him, it is not his duty to call a conference, but he is quite willing to listen to representations. It is understood that the Minister will oppose any suggestion that funds for publicity be placed in the hands of a separate body. His policy has been laid down along certain lines, and has proved a success. The chambers are meeting this morning to prepare proposals, and will meet the Minister later in the day.
