BANKRUPTCY CHARGE
MERCHANTS’ BOOKS accused exonerated Press Association. TIMARU, To-day. At the Supreme Court George Sunderland Meredith and Samuel James Hitchlns, grain merchants, Waimate, were Jointly charged with that, being bankrupts, they had failed to keep such books of accounts as were necessary nd sufficient, and further, with having concealed certain assets, beingdebts due to them. Aftor hearing evidence extending over more than a day the jury returned a verdict of “not guilty.”
