DISTRICT FIRES

DWELLING AT TE KUITI (From Out' Own Correspondent.) TE KUITI, To-day. A fire occurred about 3.30 p.m. yesterday afternoon at the residence of Mr. R. Boyden, Hill Street, and partially destroyed the building and contents. The brigade was quickly on the scene and did splendid service. The building was insured, as also was the furniture, but the amount of the insurances is not available. At the time of the fire all the occupants were away from home, and the outbreak is a mystery. SHOP GUTTED TAUMARUNUI, To-day.

A shop at Manunui, used as a general store, occupied by Mrs. L. Ettershank and owned by Mrs. E. Holm, was gutted by fire last night. Excellent work by the brigade saved the whole block from going. The contents of the shop were insured for £ 1,500, but the insurance on the building is not available.
