A STIRRING FILM

NEW HISTORICAL ROMANCE Stirring days of the French and Indian War, when the English colonists were menaced by the French and their savage allies, form the background of a romantic love affair in “Winners of the Wilderness.” The story is a historical romance, and stars Tim McCoy. Joan Crawford appears in the role of a lonely daughter of the commandant of Fort Duquesne at the time of Braddock’s defeat. The cast of characters is composed of the history-makers of that period and includes George Washington and Captain Gage, a British general during the American Revolution. Other historical characters in the picture are General Braddock, whose stubbornness caused the massacre of nine hundred soldiers of his command of thirteen hundred, the French Governor of Canada and the English Governor of the colony of Virginia.
