DECEMBER CHAMPIONSHIP

OLYMPIC TEAM PROSPECTS Press Association WELLINGTON, Monday. The council of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association decided to-night that the Australian and New Zealand championships should be held on Athletic Park, Wellington, on December 26 and 27, and the Decathlon on December 28 and 29, and it was also decided to ask the Australian association to forward the names of those athletes who would be prepared to make a short tour of New Zealand after the championships. The sub-committee appointed to consider the possibilities for the next Olympic Games reported as follows: Up to Olympic standard, Lay, Leadbetter, Hose, Porritt, Misses Manton, Wilson, and Eastwood; very good prospects, Lander, Fleming, Grose, and Oakley. Messrs. A. C. Kitto, E. G. Guy, J. W. Heenan, and L. A. Tracy were appointed New Zealand selectors for the Australian and New Zealand championships.
