AND THE LIGHTS WENT OUT
“And now brethren, we will, in accordance with the custom of our fathers, take up a collection! ” As a Moderator Elect cf General Assembly (Rev. j. Aitken) pronounced these words at the great Presbyterian gathering In Auckland Town Hall last night, the lights failed. The collection was taken In darkness. Whether it had an appreciable effect on contributors or not Mr. Aitken did not explain.
