GARAGE AND SHOP BURNED

THREE CARS DESTROYED (From Our Own Correspondent.) PALMERSTON NORTH, Monday. A fire at Rongotea at 1 o’clock this morning destroyed Melles’s motor garage and Glover’s blacksmith shop. The buildipg, which was 37 years old, was owned by Mr. J. Glover and was insured. His stock was also covered. Mr. Melles, whose stock was partly insured, estimates his loss at £ 500. Three cars were burned in the garage. In trying to put the fire out, Mr. George Illingworth received injuries necessitating his removal t<> Ha •3ton North, where he was given medical attention. The fire is believed to have originated in the garage.
