LOOKED REALLY BAD

While approaching the threefurlong post in the race for the Beerescourt Hack at Te Rapa on Saturday, Tinokoa, running on the outside of the field, got on the heels of a horse in front and came down. His rider, Foster, hit the earth hard. Tinokoa promptly tried to get up, but was not on all fours before Miss Comet —who had got left at the post and was tailing the field—crashed into him, and she also fell, sending Angelo flying. The collision was for all the world like a smash when two engines meet head on—they {joth rose and then fell together. The two jockeys should have been badly hurt, but they weren’t. It was their lucky day.
