FRINGE-LIKE BEADS

Apron panels of fringe make georgette dance frocks look very attractive, and there is a certain type of fringe which looks rather like strands of iridescent beads in artificial light. This, as may be imagined, is very pretty on a light frock, and has this advantage that there are no beads to get crushed or broken before the dance is over. One such frock was of naie ivory georgette, the rounded top having a very narrow fringe, not more than an inch and a-half wide, to outline it. From waist to hem the skirt had tiers of strands, the top one only a few inches in depth, and the others growing wider as the hem was reached. These tiers gave a slightly bouffant effect, very becoming to a youthful wearer.
