Gibbs, telegraph engineer of the Post Telegraph Department will pay extended visit of investigation to Europe and North America. The inference will co-ordinate all matters relating to the wireless telegraph and telephone services and agree upon all necessary alterations to the international convention regulations which at present govern communication by means of wireless on land and sea. lengths suitable to all the different services, including broadcasting and amateur transmission, will be alloc ited with a view to minimising inter erence and to providing the greatest possible number of channels of con munication for the different countries of the world. ■ \ close study will be made of radio developments and their relation to the ultimate expansion of the New Zcafcnd telegraph and telephone services. The eccnomic aspect of the department's telegraph and telephone extensor anil maintenance works will also be considered. Mo. Gibbs will spend a portion of his time in the United Kingdom in colfcboratim with the engineers of the British Post Office and the manufacturers of New Zealand telegraph and tele phone equipment.
