both sides prepare THREE DAYS’ DEBATE IN HOUSE

The Government has allotted an eieeptionally lengthy period for the . ond reading debate on the Trades Cnion3 Bill in the House of Commons, iamely, three and a-half Parliamentary days, beginning on Monday. The Attorney-General, Sir Douglas Hogg, will open the discussion. Mr J. R. Clynes, Labour member :jr Platting, Manchester, will immedinely move the rejection of the meant. The attitude of the Liberals is still somewhat obscure. Mo surprise would be occasioned if Sir John Simon, Liberal member for Yotkshire, West Riding, were to comad the Bill, but it is expected that nther more than half the Liberals will vote against the second reading. The Conservative organisation is sot allowing the members of the Labour Party to have matters all their ora way in the country. One thoutaad indoor and outdoor meetings ■» support of the Bill have already been arranged. Ten Ministers, including Mr. Winsou Churchill and the Earl of Birkenstad, have undertaken to address ass meetings. The Labour Party is appealing for Snd: to carry on its opposition camiaign.—A. and N.Z.
