ROTORUA NOTES
A. AND P. SOCIAL EVENING (From Our Own Correspondent.) ROTORUA, Friday. The Rotorua Agricultural and I-’as-toral Association held its first social of the season last night. The 500 tournament attracted an excellent entry, the various winners being as follows: Ladies: first, Mrs. H. A. Pearce; second, Mrs. Williams. Gentlemen: first, Mr. A. Pennington; second, Air. A. Newman. After presenting the prizes, the president of the association, Mr. T. P. Dowling, thanked all for their attendance and announced that there were to be a series of four further tournaments, with a prize for the winning lady and gentleman each evening, and a further special prize for the lady and gentleman scoring the highest number of wins at the four tournaments. A dainty supper was provided, and the music for the dancing was supplied by Hunter’s orchestra.
