HOW MUCH SEED TO SOW Quantities per Row. Beans, Broad Windsor.—Half a pint will sow a 25ft row. Beans, Long Pod. —Half a pint will sow a 35ft row. Beans, Dwarf French or Kidney.— Half a pint will sow a 35ft row. Beans, Runner.—Sow in lines, seeds six inches apart (usually a double line to the row). Beetroot.—Half an ounce of seed will sow a 25ft row. Brocoli, Brussels Sprouts, Cabbages, Cauliflowers, etc. —Half an ounce of seed will sow three square yards of seed-bed, the seedlings to be transplanted ' at least two feet apart each way.
Carrot. —One ounce of seed will sow a 100 ft row. Carrot seed should always be mixed with sand before sowing.
Celery.—Half a n ounce of seed is ample for a 50f1. .double or a 100 ft single row*. Cress.—Half an ounce of seed will sow a 50ft drill.
Cucumber.—This is usually so*” 11 singly in small pots or an inch and ahalf apart in pans. ... Leek. —Half an ounce of seed Win sow a 50ft row. Lettuce. —Half an ounce of seed ww sow a 60ft row. Onion. —Same as leeks. ~ Parsley.—Half an ounce of seed wiu sow a 40ft row. . . * Peas.—On good ground, one P inl seed will sow a 75ft row. Peas usually sown much too thickly. Potatoes.—Reckon 11 to 121 b or tubers to the rod of ground (30* so ll yards). wi n Radish. —Half an ounce of seed sow a seed bed o c three square Tomato.—Seeds should be sown least an inch apart in pots, P J - n boxes. .
