THE FLOWER GARDEN
Prepare your- rose beds for June planting; cut back unsightly growths and weed out any weak-doers or poorflowering varieties. , In warm corners early beds of cineraria, nemesia, primula and stocks should be planted for an early show. Hardy seedlings, ready now, are pansy, viola, antirrhinums, dianthus, wallflower, sweet William, pyretaurum, calliopsis and gaillardia. Lift and divide lily of the valley crowns, replanting four to six inches apart Gladioli and lilium bulbs should be lifted and replanted at once. Pick all dead flowers off the chrysanthemums to prevent the mildew spreading. Thoroughly clean the greenhouse now before you become too busy with the spring \\ ork. Wash all the staging and frames with disinfectant. Sow seeds in boxes of the following: Pansy, cineraria, nemesia, antirrhinums, lobelia, stock, cyclamen, poppy (Iceland). Cut off all the old growth from the delphiniums, daisys, helenum, golden rod and all the herbacious perennials in the flcwer borders. Clumps of dwarf flower seed may be sown between the dormant plants.
