AIR PLEASURE TRIPS AFTERNOON TEA FLIGHTS WAITER GETS “AIR LEGS” By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright Reed. 1.30 p.m. LONDON, Friday. A whisky, sir,” said an agile steward in spic and span white jacket and peaked cap standing in the blue pile carpeted corridor of a giant plane balancing a salver containing bottles, glasses and syphon while London was 4 000 feet below bathed in Spring sunshine. This was on the City of Glasgow, one of the two four new tripleengined “silver wing” airliners engaged on the first of the afternoontea pleasure trips over London under *auspices of the Imperial Airways. The aerial waiter had thoroughly mastered his air-legs and walked briskly up and down the gangway ministering to the needs of passengers. It is a striking commentary on the vast strides being made in civil flying.—A. and N.Z.
