Races For Yachts And Motor-Boats

VICTORIA CLUB’S DAY ENTRIES AND HANDICAPS General handicap races for yachts and a race for launches will be held by the Victoria Club off St. Mary’s Bay to-morrow afternoon. The races will start and finish off the dredge Maui. Officials of the day are: Messrs. O. Johnson, starter; W. H. Matthews, judge: J. McGehan and H. Crowl, timekeepers. The course for C, JT. L and X classes, which will race together for the Casey Cup, starting at 2.30, will be from flagships and mark mored south, thence round Resolution buoy, on port hand, thence round White Light buoy in Rangitoto Channel on starboard hand, back round Resolution buoy on starboard, thence round black buoy off Birkenhead on starboard, finishing at starting line. The entries and handicaps for this event are:—Starlight, scr.; Wairiki, 1 min.; Cooee, 4min;. Celox, 6min.; Spray, 7 min; Eulalie, lOmin.: Lucille, lOmin.; Venus, llmin. 30sec.; Winifred, 12min. 30sec.: Malua, 19min: Mowai, 21min.; Louisa, 24min.; • Why Not, 25min. and Rakoa 13Xmin. The course for V, S and M; T, X and Y class races will be from flagship and mark-boat moored south, thence round mark off tide deflector, thence round mark in Shoal Bay, thence round mark off Watchman, keeping channel side of Pile beacons, twice round: all marks to be kept on port hand. This course may be reversed, in which case marks must be passed on starboard. A black flag will indicate the Watchman mark first and a white flag the deflector mark first. Entries and handicaps for the Rae Cup, V, S and M classes, which starts at 2.40 p.m., are: Mollie, Matarore, Maroro, Mawhiti, Manene, Surprise, all scr.; Drone, 30sec.; Wild Wave, 4min. 30sec.; Millicent, smin.; Leveret, 6 min.; Namu, 9min.; Aratu, Lancia, Sea Sleigh, Atangatai, 14min.; Muru, 17 min.; and Swiftsure, 25min. Boenstra Memorial Cup (T, X and Y classes, starting at 2.50 p.m.: Alerte, scr.; Sea Gnome, 3min. 30sec.; Kismet, 4min. 30sec.; Marie, 6min. 30sec.; Ngaio, 7min. 30sec.; Resolute, Smin. 30sec.; Dulcie, 12min. 30sec.; Mizpah, 12min. 30sec.; and Hapuka, 24min. 30 sec. The judge has been given the necessary power, should the weather be unsuitable for completing two rounds of the course for the smaller classes, to declare one round only and halve the handicaps. Entries for the race for launches over the usual harbour course, which starts at 2.20 p.m., under sealed handicaps, are: Pal-o’-Mine, Manyana, Manurere, Phyllis, Marion D and Irene.
