HAMILTON STRUCK BY A CYCLONE

HOUSE SHIFTED ON FOUNDATIONS; BIG SIGNBOARD DOWN A portion of Hamilton this morning had an experience that was as unusual as it was unwelcome. A cyclonic disturbance swept over portion of the town, and for a few minutes raged furiously. It proved highly destructive, blew down a huge signboard 60 feet long at the establishment known as Dad’s Store, and reduced a brick parapet on the roof. A house in the track of the disturbance was shifted on its foundations, and the verandah posts at another place were lifted from their concrete foundations by the pressure against the roof.
