Official quotations are:— New Zealand. —Finest salted, exceptional, 156 s per cwt.; other, 152 s to 1545; unsalted, 164 s to 166 s per cwt; other qualities, 142 s to 150 s per cwt. Australian. —Salted. 151 s to 15-*s per cwt; unsalted, 15Ss to 162 s per cwt; other qualities, 138 s to 152 s per cwt. Argentine. —Unsalted, 154 s to 156 s per cwt; exceptional, 158 s per cwt; other qualities, 144 s to 152 s per cwt. Danish (quiet).—l72s to 176 s per cwt CHEESE. —Colonial market quiet. Official quotations are: — . . . , English Finest Farmers’ (stocks are very low). —120 s to 124 s per cwt. Canadian. —Coloured, 90s to 94s per cwt; white, 92s to 94s per cwt; other qualities, 86s to 90s per cwt. New Zealand. — Coloured and white, <6s to 77s per cwt; other qualities, 74s to 75s per cwt. CASEIN. — Present quotations are: New Zealand rennet, £56; Danish rennet, £72 10s. APPLES. Cambridge and Mahama shipments cleared. Prices are: Cox’s Orange, 18s to 25s per case; Jonathan, 16s to 17s Dunn’s Favourite, 14s to 16s; Worcester Pearmain, 14s to 15s; Alfriston, 15s to 16s; Wolseley, 13s to 14s; Premier, 13s to 14s. lonic discharging some waste Cox’s Orange and pears. Will report fully HEMP— Manila market dull and prices lower. “J ” grade May-July shipments quoted £4l 15s, and April-June shipments £42. Sisal market quiet. No. 1 Tanganyika quoted £3B. Mexican offered £35 10s c.i.f. European ports for AprilSeptember shipments. New Zealand market slow with no buyers at present and value nominal. Possible business at about £35 for high-points and £34 for fair for April-June shipments. Stocks in London at March 31, 50 tons, against SI tons for same time last year. LONDON WOOL SALES. — Under date April 26, Messrs. Dalgety and Company advise cable advice from London to the effect that the following vessels have arrived in time for the May wool sales: — Athenic, Te Koa, Corinthic, Matakana, Mahana, Matatua. TALLOW SALES Under date April 27, Dalgety and Company have received the following cable from their London house;— Tallow 5a1e5. —1,355 casks offered and 61 per cent, sold; mostly 3d to 6d higher.
