WEST CONOB ARRIVES. —The American steamer West Conob arrived at Auckland late yesterday afternoon from San Pedro and berthed at King’s Wharf. The vessel is carrying a. large cargo of lumber, case oil and general merchandise. Fourteen thousand tons of this cargo, including 24,000 cases of oil. will be discharged at Auckland, and the remainder at Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. The vessel sailed finally from San Pedro on March 31, but previously she had loaded at Portland, Vancouver, New Westminster and San Francisco. Very fair weather was experienced for the voyage until last Tuesday, when the vessel encountered rough seas and a strong westerly gale, which delayed her arrival in port. The West Conob is commanded by Captain C«. Roosa. and the following are the officers: Chief. Mr. H. Hoeppner; second. Mr. R. Norberg; third, Mr. P. Bauer: chief engineer. Mr. C. G. Jones; second.
