UNIVERSITY “FRESHERS”

. ANNUAL DEBATE The annual “freshers’ ” debate of the Auckland University College Debating Society was held in the college hall last evening, Mr. L. Usher presiding over a good attendance. Messrs. E. A. Forsman, J. Wilson, D. B. Paul, C. W. Scott, F. W. Simpson, and H. A. C. Davy were the speakers and all spoke confidently. Mr. Simpson won the “freshers’ ’* mug for the best speaker. Mr. Carl K. Straubel acted as judge.
