Received 11.20 a.m. Two British bluejackets gave two rickshaw coolies more than double their legal fare, but the coolies demanded 20 times more. When the sailors refused the coolies attackeu them and other coolies joined in. One sailor was stabbed twice. Chinese police, instead ot assistm = the sailors, carried them off to the police station, whence they were escorted to their ship. None of the coolies was arrested. —A. and S.Z.
