A COMING-OF-AGE PARTY

An enjoyable evening was spent recently at the Domain Kiosk, when Mr. Derham, of Symonds Street, gave a dance in honour of the coming of age of his daughter Zeta, who wore an exquisite gown of ivory satin and silver tissue, trimmed with Oriental medallions. Miss Vera Derham, who received the guests, was gowned in cherry red georgette, fash-* ioned with a graceful pleated skirt, and finished with silver lame. During the evening a number of delightful items were given by Miss Thelma Duffin and Mr. Jack McLaren. The guests included Mrs. Hugh Duffin, wearing a charming gown of French rose velvet, with a handsome embroidered black shawl; Mrs. Creadon, japonica red satin marocain; Mrs. T. O’Reilly, beige marocain, with gold beading; Mrs. J. Sweeney, wild rose georgette; Miss Thelma Duffin, lettuce green georgette, with autumn toned trimming; Miss Mavis Taylor, mauve taffetas; Miss I. Taylor, eau de nil crepe de chine; Miss Greta Shirley, Nile green georgette; Miss Finer, black lace gown; Miss Rickard, embroidered primrose taffetas; Miss Kitty Johnson, embossed white satin, trimmed with white fur; Miss Huston, black figured crepe de chine; Miss Goldsbro’, smart. gown of black bordered crepe de chine; Miss F. Lee, beaded petunia georgette.
