No Tasmanian Steamer.—The people in Hobart are greatly perturbed over the loss of the steamer Riverina, as it removes the only direct passenger link with the mainland. The president of the Chamber of Commerce has telegraphed to the Huddart-Parker Company, asking if it might be possible to arrange for the steamers Marama and Maunganui, which are on the run between Sydney and Wellington, to include Hobart in their itinerary.—A. and N.Z.
