THE REGENT
GREAT PARAMOUNT COMEDY "Kid Boots,” the screamingly funny Paramount version of the musical comedy of the same name, will be shown at the Regent Theatre for two more nights. The return to-day of these popular child-prodigies, The Four Little Kellys, will be welcomed by all, for these children, with their novelty musical act, have charmed all hearts, and they have received tumultuous receptions at each appearance. On Friday an entirely new programme of pictures and vaudeville will be presented. The principal film will be “Poker Faces,” a Universal comedy supreme, described as “the funniest farce in years,” starring beautiful Laura La Plante and that inimitable fellow, Edward Everett Horton. The pair of them are seen in the weirdest combination of circumstances ever. Imagine the love tangles of a young' man who, for business reasons, palms another girl off as his wife, then is accosted by his real wife and the strong-armed husband of the other girl—-and you can realise what a roaring riot of sprightly comedy the film contains. The J. C. Williamson vaudeville side of the bill will feature Paddy Saunders, famous English cartoonist. Paddy is a marvel with chalk and easel and in adidtion he is no mean comedian, for he keeps up a run of the most amusing patter while he executes his “creations.”
