COST OF EXHIBITION COURT DELAY IN NORTHERN PAYMENT Although it is 12 months ago since the Dunedin Exhibition closed, the affairs of the Auckland Provincial Court have not been settled definitely. The cause of the delay is the North Auckland Progress League, which has not forwarded its complete quota toward the cost of the Auckland Provincial Court * Mr. J. Finlay, secretary of the Auckland court, has written to the North Auckland League asking that a settlement be made by the end of this month, otherwise the matter will be placed in the hands of the court’s solicitors. The North Auckland League is the only contributing local body which has not contributed the whole of its levy toward the cost of the Auckland court at the exhibition. The last letter Mr. Finlay received from the North Auckland League was on January 19. It stated that it had the sum of £24 2s lid in hand. Mr. Finlav wrote asking that this balance be forwarded to him. The Auckland Provincial Court allowed the North Auckland League the sum of £SO toward expenses, but the league has forwarded a list of its expenses totalling £7l 8s Id. It is thought that some of the forwarding and return charges may have been duplicated, in that they have been paid by both the Auckland court and the North Auckland League. The Whangarei Harbour Board paid the Auckland court the sum of £25, but the North Auckland League states that this sum should have been paid directly to its account.
