A WHIRL OF GAIETY
PRINCE OF WALES IN SPAIN SETS NEW FASHION By Cable. —Press Association.—Copyright Reed. Noon. MADRID, Tuesday. Their Majesties tlie King and Queen of Spain having, left the Prince of Wales free to choose his own programme, his Spanish holiday has become one whirl of gaiety which includes much golf and polo between which he has kaleidoscopic glimpses of Spanish life. To-day he golfed and then motored to the Spanish rodeo and returned to Alcazar after lunch and attended a game of polo. He was offered a seat in the line of armchairs occupied by Spanish aristocracy, and finding nowhere to place his hat and cane, unhesitatingly dug the cane into the ground and hung the hat on top, constituting a new fashion which is now accepted in Spain as correct etiquette at open-air functions. At midnight he went to a reception on a liner moored in the river. He loudly clapped the senoritas’ dancing exhibition and created a sensation himself by dancing the Charleston. He went home at two o’clock. —A. and N.Z.
