PIASTOON WINS SYDNEY CUP RACE RUN IN SLOW TIME By Cable. —Press Association.—Copyright SYDNEY, Saturday. After two postponements c wing to unfavourable weather, the second day’s racing of the Australian Jockey Club’s Autumn Meeting was brought off at Randwick to-day. Though fine weather prevailed, the atmosphere wa * invested with a touch of winter. The attendance was estimated at 80,000 The race track was on the heavy side. With the exception of the Sydney Cup New Zealand’s representation was small.
Eighteen horses lined up for the cup, and after a little troubie a good start was effected. Piastoon immediately went to the front and held that position all the way. Limerick, Count Cavour and Battlement were among the bunch passing the stand the first time. Going along the back Bunkle went up behind Piastoon, and the pace increased. Piastoon led into the straight, followed by Heroic, Bunkie, Limerick, Luddenham, Valamita and Imitator. In a hard finish Limerick and Tibbie challenged the leader, but Piastoon had three-quarters of a length to spare at the post, with Tibbie & head behind Limerick. The time, 3.33]. was the slowest recorded since 1915. Aberfeldy made a poor showing in the steeplechase and finished many lengths behind the rest of the field, except Minterne and Monte Carlo, both of who mlost their riders. Prince Arim and Grey Knight jumped well. The following are the details of the racing:

Jocelyn put up an excellent performance. She was well back at the start, but moved up quickly entering the straight, and in a hardfought finish gained the verdict by threequarters of a length.
