VISITING MINISTER

THE HON. ERNEST LAPOINTE Evidently Sir Francis Bell made a good impression on other Empire representatives whom he met abroad on his recent visits. “ I am very anxious to meet Sir Francis,” was one of the first remarks made by the Minister of Justice for Canada, the Hon. Ernest Lapointe, when he arrived on the Aorangi. “ I hear Mr. Bollard has a message for me from him.” The Minister is a very much travelled man. He met Sir Francis Bell at Geneva, where they were both attending the League of Nations Council, and again last year at the Imperial Conference. The Hon. R. F. Bollard. Minister of Internal Affairs, greeted Mr. Lapointe on behalf of the Government of New Zealand, whose guest he is during his stay in Auckland. Yesterday, in company with Mr. Bollard, Mr. Lapointe attended the Anzac Day ceremony at the Town Hall, and laid a wreath on the cenotaph on behalf of the Canadian Government.
