PERSONAL.—Mr. B. F. Fisher has been appointed second officer of the Marama, Mr. A. R. Champion having transferred to the Makura as second officer, relieving Mr. D. M. Todd, who has resigned from the service. Mr. N. B. W. Haszard has been appointed chief officer of the Maunganui, relieving Mr. C. Sharpe for holiday leave. Mr. J. J. Lyon has been appointed second officer of the Kiwitea, relieving Mr. J. B. Gibson for instructions. Captain R. Huntly is now in command of the Ngatoro, Captain T. B. Although no radio has been received Messrs. Spedding. Limited, expect the Government steamer Hin?moa to arrive at Auckland to-norow night from Suva. She is announced to leave Auckland 3 p.m. on Monday, May 2, for Norfolk Islands. KIA ORA COMPLETING. —To complete loading under the auspices of A. S. Paterson and Company, the Shaw Savill and Albion steamer Kla Ora arrived at Auckland this morning from Wellington. She is scheduled to clear this port on Friday evening, April 29, for New York, Boston and London. WEST CO NOB RADIOS.—A wireless message from the American steamer West Conob states she will arrive from San Pedro at 6.30 o’clock to-morrow morning. The vessel has lumber, case oil and general cargo from Pacific Coast ports. She will berth at King’s Wharf. From Auckland she will go to Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Henderson and Macfarlane are the local agents. RUAPEHU DELAYED—The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the departure of the Ruapehu from Wellington for Liverpool and London has been postponed until 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, instead of on Friday, April 29 MELBOURNE STEAMER. The Moeraki, which cleared Melbourne on Wednesday afternoon, arrived at Blutff yesterday afternoon. She will proceed to Dunedin, Lyttelton and Wellington, and is due Wellington next Friday. The vessel is scheduled to leave Wellington the following afternoon for Melbourne direct. DIOMEDE AND NUCULA.—The acting-flagship of the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy, H.M.S. Diomede, and the Admiralty oil tanker Nucula, left Suva on Saturday for Auckland- The Diomede, which has been on a cruise to the Islands, is due at 8.30 a.m. to-morrow, while the oil tanker is expected later in the day.

AO RANG! IN PORT. —The Union Cornpay’s R.M.M.S. Aorangi arrived at Auckland at 5.25 p.m. on Sunday from Vancouver via ports, and after pratique was granted berthed at Prince’s Wharf. CUMBERLAND ARRIVES. — The Federal steamer Cumberland arrived at Auckland early on Sunday morning from Liverpool, and after pratique was granted berthed at the Queen’s Wharf. For this the Cumberland loaded her cargo at Newport (Monmouthshire) , Avonmouth, Glasgow and Liverpool and cleared the last-men-tioned port on Alarch 15. Colon was reached on April 1, and after replenising her oil supply she passed through Panama Canal and cleared Balboa the following day. Luring the first week from Liverpool the Cumberland encountered stormy weather; afterwards the weather conditions were fairly good. The Cumberland, which is discharging at Auckland under the auspices of the New Zealand Shipping Company, leaves on Saturday for Napier,. Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin to complete her discharge, after which she takes the loading berth in New Zealand for Home. Captain D. The Maunganui is scheduled to leave Auckland again at 3 p.m. on Friday on her return trip to Sydney. TONGARIRO FROM LONDON. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Tongariro arrived at Auckland at five o’clock this morning from London and berthed at Prince’s Wharf. The vessel left Bondon on March 11 and arrived at Colon on March 27. Average weather prevailed to Panama, although five days of bad weather were encountered accompanied by strong southerly gales. After oil fuel had been taken on at Colon, transit through the canal was granted, and Balboa cleared on the same day. The voyage across the Pacific was made in particularly fine weather, and the Tongariro arrived at Suva on April 17. She remained there till last Friday, April 22, discharging cargo, and then came on to Auckland. From here the vessel, which carries a cargo of general merchandise, proceeds to Wellington on Wednesday week to complete her discharge. Captain H. M.
