Among the artistes billed to appear to-night are the Seven Godfreys, Drayton Venables, Pearl, the trapeze marvel, Jim Lomas, Doris Moore, and The Mighty Atom. On the screen one of the most famous stars in the world and one of the most famous novels are combined in Marion Davies’s latest Metro-Gold-wyn-ivfayer feature, “ Beverly of Graustark.” She is a big favourite, and the book after some years is still a favourite romance. The new production is a colourful story of a court intrigue and romance in modern Europe, filmed on a gorgeous scale. Antonio Moreno plays the leading male role opposite Miss Davies, and the others in the cast include Roy D’Arcy, Pauline Duval. Creighton Hale, Max Barwyn, Albert Gran and Charles Clary. Sidney Franklin, director of many of the Talmadge successes, directed it. Elaborate settings and spectacular ensembles form the background, against which a tensely dramatic and human story is revealed.
