He has also been closely connected with the organisation of entertainments for the Blind Institute, Mental Hospital, and the Gaol. In all, his past record shows a keen and close interest in the welfare of others. Vote for J. B. KING who places his services before the Auckland citizens as a keen, zealous business man, whose chief aim through his life has been to foster and forward the progress of others in general. A successful business career of 26 years as a wholesale merchant and master plumber in Auckland has enabled him to build up a sound and progressive position among our leading citizens, and in water schemes alone, his experience would be a decided acquisition to a council that has several water projects in hand. With six years’ service as a Councillor, during all of which time 1 have been a member of the Finance Committee, and for the last four years Deputy-Mayor and Chairman of the Street Lights Committee, I feel I can fill the position with credit. A member of the Seddon Memorial Technical College Board of Control, and for 23 years Headmaster of the Onehunga Public School (now retired), and with 30 years’ residence in Onehunga, I have the necessary time to devote to Borough affairs. Born in Onehunga, I was reared, educated, and have resided all my life in this town, in which I have taken such a lively interest. For 4 years I have headed the poll as a councillor, and during my term of office have served on the Streets, Drainage, and Building Committees, which have been so successful, and as Chairman of the Waterworks Committee, the Boroughs best paying proposition. A young man and a builder by trade, my policy is strict economy, and the production of work in the Borough of a permanent nature, and for general public benefit. W. C. COLDICUTT
