BIG FISH
A correspondent who has just returned from a visit to Deep Water Cove, Bay of Islands, reports that, fishing from the launch "Lorna Doone” on Easter Monday, Mr. D. Hay, of Matamata, landed a mako shark turning the scale at 2071 b. Mr. W. f>. Hopkins, of Auckland, secured a 12ft. ■ blue-nosed shark, weight unknown. With the latter were some splendid pilot fish, or suckers, which are being preserved at Zane Grey camp for the Auckland Museum.
