Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks are totally at sea about their future stories. Douglas had planned j to do a Biblical theme on a large scale, ; but De Mille’s “King of Kings” on the verge of release knocked the idea to the shelf. Mary had a story about a little girl thief picked out, but at the last minute that, too, was discarded. Lya de Putti walked out of Lasky and right over to De Mille. This brings to mind that Jetta Goudal did the same thing. Mr. De Mille seems to be the for all the temperamental stars that can’t get along over at the Melrose Avenue studio. Lya thought the Paramount people-didn't appreciate sufficiently when they gave her supporting roles to other feminine stars, so Mr. De Mille invited her to play in his yard. **
