WILL NOT ELECT

SCHOOL COMMITTEE AN OKOROIRE PROTEST Okoroire householders have absolutely declined to elect a school committee as a protest against the “failure of the Education Department to make a grant for the purpose of enlarging the school building. The Auckland Education Board received this news to-day. It decided to write to* the school, pointing out that it had done all possible to get an extended grant for the building. The application had been included in a list of the six most urgent requirements, and the board expected that the Government grant would be made at an early date. . , In the meantime, the old school committee might carry on until a second election would be held on May 16.
