TRAM FARE INCREASE
Until a general traffic control board was established there would be no opportunity- to protest, averred Mr. L. E. Rhodes, Mayor of Mount Albert, in an address at the Kosie Theatre last evening, when asked if the Mount Albert Council would take any- stand against the proposed increase in tram fares.
Renlvinp: to a question dealing with the need for improvement in the tramway service, in the borough, Mr. Rhodes said a report was in course of preparation by- the Tramway Department. He understood there was a possibility- of a tramway connection between Mount Albert terminus and Epsom. Provision had been made in the council’s concreting programme for tramway extensions. A vote of thanks and confidence was accorded the speaker.
