RIALTO
“FINE MANNERS” An entertaining story holds the attention in "Fine Manners,” a Paramount production, starring Gloria Swanson, which heads the programme to commence showing at the Rialto Theatre this evening. Gloria Swanson has the role of a young girl living in a cheap Xew York tenement, with only her brother, Buddy (Walter Goss) to protect her. Buddy prefers the friends about him to those in high society, and Brian Alden (Eugene O’Brien), a wealthy young man, has to pose as a waiter before Buddy will allow him to see his sister. The theme of the story is developed when Brian takes his fiancee to the home of his aunt, Agatha, to be brought up among people of social standing. She remains there for six months while Brian is away from home, and it is not until the young man returns and finds a cold, unresponsive society woman that he realises that this is not the kind of girl he loves, and he would prefer to have her back just as was when he met.her. How his wishes are gratified forms a good story.
