A PERSONAL ATTACK
ARBITRATION COURT BREEZE MR. HAMMOND REPLIES Press Association NEW PLYAIOUTH, To-day. In the Arbitration Court Air. B. L. Hammond replied to a personal attack by Air. A. L. Alonteith, made in the course of dissenting from a judgment at Palmerston North affecting the Kairanga County Council drivers. Air. Hammond had asserted that the signatures to the petition were obtained by misrepresentation and because he did not substantiate this by sworn evidence Air. Alonteith had characterised the statement as wild and imaginary. All*. Hamomnd assured the court that the statement was true, and that the Pinion advocate subsequently admitted that he could take no exception. The court adjourned on an application by the union advocate, on the ground that the Kairanga award had disorganised the affairs of local unions.
