WHANGAREI UNION SEASON OPENS ON MAY 7 KING’S BIRTHDAY TOURNEY (From Our Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, Wednesday. At the first meeting of the Management. Committee of the W hangtirei Rugby Union, it was decided that the season should open on May 7. The date for the closing of nominations was extended to Saturday next. On the motion of the chairman, Mr. R. Worner, it was decided to advertise for the position of Secretary, applications to close in 14 days. Messrs. Collins, Proctor, Revell and Worner were appointed a committee to arrange the seven-a-side competition on June 3. The secretary reported that Grammar Old Boys and the Otamatea Union had announced their intention of entering teams.
