Mr. L. B. Beale, the British Trade Commissioner, and Mrs. Beale, are at present in Christchurch, and are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Ollivier, of St. Martin’s. Miss M. Gilfedder is a Wellington visitor to Auckland. Miss Carncross, of Eltham, was a recent visitor to Auckland. Miss Whitton, of New Plymouth, was the guest, during Easter, of her sister, Mrs. Tomlinson, of Auckland. * * * Mrs- Halliwell and Mrs. Halse motored from Masterton during the week to spend a holiday in Auckland. * J»: * The W ellington Pioneer Club held a reception yesterday afternoon in honour of Miss Edith Lyttelton (G. B. Lancaster), the well-known authoress, who is at present travelling in New Zealand. * * * The Misses Barker were recent visitors to Auckland. Miss Eva Matthews, who has been living in Auckland for some months is at present spending a holiday with her parents in Gisborne. * * * Mrs. Hewitf returned to Auckland last week after* spending some time in Wanganui. * * $ Mrs. Claude Weston is a New Plymouth visitor to Auckland at present. Mr. and Mrs. G. Wildish, of Gisborne, will arrive in Auckland at the end of the month to take up their residence here. Mrs. Creatbatch, of New Plymouth, is at present in Auckland. * * * Mrs. F. Fallowes has returned to Eltham after spending a holiday in Auckland. * * * Mrs. R. G. Beaver, of Hamilton, has returned after a visit to Auckland. Mrs. Evans Scott and Miss Scott are Wellington visitors to Auckland. * * * Mr. and Mrs. J. Bryant, of Wellington, are at present in Auckland. Miss F. Clark left town last evening en route for Nelson. * * * The Misses N. and H. L. Hay will leave by the Ulimaroa to-morrow for an extended holiday visit to Queensland. * * * The Misses G. and D. Cole left last evening for Wellington, from whence they will return to England. Mrs. H. O. Nolan and Miss Nolan accompanied them to Wellington. * * * Colonel and Mrs. Noel Adams, who have been visiting town, have returned to Wharekawa. * * * Miss Rita Gannaway, of Auckland, is at present visiting Christchurch, where she is the guest of Mrs. A. J. McCredie, Fendalton. Mr. and Mrs. G. Bradley, of St. Helier’s, are at preesnt touring the South Island, and spent Easter in Christchurch.
