WORLD ECONOMICS

QUESTION OF MARKETS LEAGUE OF NATIONS DATA By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright NEW YORK. Tueßtlay. The League of Nations Association, which is a non-partisan organisation, has prepared data for the use of the International Economic Conference, which will meet at Geneva on May 4. These show that in 14 years’ time, if no wars occur, the working population between the ages of 15 and 70, in many of the principal countries of the world, will have increased in the following percentages:—Australia 60, the United States 50, Sweden 35. Japan 32, Italy 38, Britain 28, Switzer land 26, and Belgium 18. The association therefore suggests that the question of developing the markets for the products of these people is one for immediate consideration.—A. and N.Z.
