A HUNGRY CREW NOW IN COMFORT

(From Our Own Correspondent.) WANGANUI, To-day.

Some few days ago it was reported that the crew of the steam tug Kahanui, purchased by the Wanganui Harbour Board were absolutely without money owing to the vessel not having been taken over by the board. They had not the price of a cigarette between them. The men have now been paid off. In the meantime the vessel will be in charge of Vickers’ caretaker. The Harbour Board does not take delivery until the vessel has passed inspection. All the machinery has not been put aboard. This equipment is at present at Castlecliff, having been sent on in advance.
