FOR RELIEF WORK

MILFORD FUNCTIONS Two very successful functions have been held during the past fortnight at Milford, for the purpose of raising funds to further the efforts of the Rev Jasper Calder, City missioner, in relief work both in Milford and Auckland. The entertainments took the form of a dance and a bazaar, and by means of them the sum of over £3O was raised. Thanks are due to Mr. F. H. Baker for the use of his house and grounds for the bazaar, and to Mr. Speedy for giving the use of his Picturedrome for the dance. Mrs. Allan Brown was untiring in her efforts towards making both functions the undoubted successes they were, and great credit is due both to her and to the able committee who assisted her. The members of the committee were: Mesdames Bull (2), Baker, Salmon and A- Warbrick.
