TARARUA TRAMPER HURT BY FALL
RIVER CROSSED ON ROPE Press Association LEVIN, Tuesday. Advice was received in Levin this afternoon that a mishap had befallen a party of Victoria College students, four men and four women, who left Shannon on Friday with the intention of traversing the Mangahao and Ohau Valleys through the Tararuas to Levin. Search parties were organised, and Mr. G. L. Adkin and Dr. Thompson immediately set out. They found the trampers at about 1.30 o’clock. One of the men named Beaglehole had fallen, and sustained a severe dislocation of the shoulder. After medical attention the return journey was made, and Levin was reached this evening. The river had risen in the meantime, necessitating the use of a rope to cross i + in several places.
